Это была единственная поездка президента в Татарстан культурно-ознакомительного характера
Ровно 20 лет назад, 23 июня 2000 года, Владимир Путин впервые в качестве президента посетил Казань и принял участие в Сабантуе. Спустя много лет российский лидер неоднократно вспоминал о нем.
«Если в России в любом месте скажете, что Сабантуй, то все поймут: это праздник», — заявил глава государства в 2016 году.
Путин прилетел в Казань спустя полтора месяца после того, как избавился от приставки и.о. к должности президента России. Визит носил неформальный характер: никаких костюмов, галстуков и официоза сложнейших вопросов, которые обычно разруливает первое лицо страны. Наоборот — футболка, тюбетейка, спортивные брюки и «омовение» в тазике с катыком, в котором высокопоставленный гость Сабантуя поймал удачу в виде пятирублевой монеты.
Оосновные действия по выстраиванию отношений центра и региональных властей пришлись, думается, на второй день визита. И хотя спустя 20 лет политологи и журналисты нередко фиксируются на том, что тот давний июньский визит российского президента был единственным «ознакомительным», не привязанным к решению какой-либо конкретной задачи или цели, решил он на самом деле многое.
Путин в качестве почетного гостя открыл Сабантуй, сплясав национальный танец в подаренной ему тюбетейке, обратился к участникам торжества на татарском языке и устроил целое шуточное представление из своего участия в соревнованиях на поясах в татарской борьбе корэш, нивелировав неравенство сил, поскольку на роль его соперника принимающая сторона назначила… красивую девушку. А еще побывал на Казанском ипподроме — на скачках, пишет «Реальное время».
В итоге было положено начало конструктивному сотрудничеству на долгие годы, что недвусмысленно подтвердил в своей ответной речи на Сабантуе первый президент Татарстана.
